History
1997
The Danville Schools Alumni Association was formed in 1997 to provide a membership organization to involve, unite and support alumni, current students and friends of the Danville Schools in continuation of Danville’s traditions of excellence.
2005
The Danville Schools Education Foundation was formed in 2005. The original vision of the Foundation was to provide a vehicle for individuals, corporations, and foundations to contribute tax-deductible donations to support students and educational programs. The Foundation has always been governed by a board of volunteer community members.
2016
In 2016, the Danville Schools Education Foundation gave away $15,000+ during the annual Dancing with the Danville Stars event and $8,000+ to academic endeavors.
2017
The DSEF began a search to hire an executive director to work to bring together the community and build the Danville Schools Education Foundation.
2018
In late 2018, the community board members of the Danville Schools Education Foundation and the Danville Schools Alumni Association voted to join forces and create a new organization that serves students, educators, community members, and alumni. This new organization is called the Danville Schools Education Foundation & Alumni Association.
